about

Bunz is a Canadian mobile app for exchanging items and services — for free or through trades. It started as a Facebook community and evolved into a standalone social platform with its own economy and user culture.
The goal of the redesign was to move trading into one safe and structured product experience — so users could negotiate, track trade statuses, chat, and coordinate meeting points on a map without relying on external channels.

my role

ux/ui designer

This promo video we produced after the app launch — crafted in a handmade style with clay-like textures to reflect the core idea of Bunz in a warm, tactile way.
With my design team, we rebuilt Bunz into a standalone app: unified the feed, trading, chat and deal management into one UX, designed new flows, navigation and a consistent visual identity — while keeping the feeling of a community, not a marketplace

branding

A key part of the work was communication design: we reimagined the mascots into expressive characters used across onboarding and system states, and introduced a brighter palette to make the product feel more human. The promo video shown above reflects this handmade, “crafted” direction through clay-like textures.
